'Trippier was sticking up for his troops'

After the final whistle blew at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, Newcastle United vice-captain Kieran Trippier headed over to the travelling Toon Army to thank them for their support. A 2-0 defeat at relegation-battling Bournemouth is most definitely a blow to Newcastle and the travelling Geordies who made the long trip to the south coast on a Saturday night. It is 13 or more injuries now for Eddie Howe's side, who are struggling to cope with the physical and mental demands of European football.
